Carmelo Crucitti is currently performing as a soloist for various orchestras. He is also, at present, a lecturer in Ancient Greek Music, specializing in the Ancient Aulos (double-reed instrument), with the "Laboratorio di Drammaturgia Antica" at the University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy.
He is involved in various productions of Italian Baroc Music for the bassoon and is recording "Le Composizioni musicali fatte per suonare col fagotto solo".
He is a concert specialist in virtuoso playing, thanks to his unusual technique and, in particular, "the triple staccato" which he is in the process of producing on a cd entitled "The Bassoon Virtuoso".
He has made many recordings, a number of which have been performed as soloist and also as part of an ensemble. As a solo bassoonist, he has arranged and recorded music for the cds "Intrecci, Musiche Napoletane d'Autore" (bassoon and piano), and "Nino Rota, le pił belle musiche da film" (bassoon and accordion) and with the "Stravaganza Orchestra" he has recorded all the concerts for bassoon by Vivaldi. |
