| The originality of the record lies in the fusion of the different styles ranging from the Neapolitan song to jazz elaborations and to reminiscences of early twentieth century Russian classical music maintaining the melody and the passionate nature of the great Neapolitan tradition. The melody is entrusted to the solo instrument, which moves, into an unusual field for the bassoon, and becomes enveloped in the exceptionally evocative resonant atmosphere of the piano. The result is a complete fusion of two languages that are stylistically so heterogeneous. |
